SCCOE offers excellent health and welfare benefits which include:

 

  • Other Benefits

    • Sick Leave
      Eligible employees earn approximately one workday of sick leave per month, which can be carried over from year to year.
    • Doctor/Dental Appointments
      Eligible employees may use 2 hours per month for the purpose of doctor or dentist appointments for themselves or immediate family members.
    • Vacation
      Eligible employees earn up to 22 days of vacation per year.
    • Holidays
      Employees receive up to 15 paid holidays per year.

    Employees also have access to:

    • Tax Shelters  457 Form 
      Employees may contribute to a tax-sheltered annuity (TSA).
    • Credit Unions
      Employees may authorize payroll deductions from their paycheck to credit union accounts.
    • Direct Paycheck Deposit  Direct Pay Form 
      Employees may request deposit of their payroll check directly into a bank or credit union of their choice. Funds are available on payday.
  • Retiree Health Care

    Eligible retirees may continue their medical insurance after retirement with a portion of their premium paid by the SCCOE until age 65. Retirees may also continue their dental, vision, and employee assistance program benefits at their cost.

    California public school employees have excellent retirement programs:

  • Tuition Reimbursement

    Eligible employees are provided reimbursement for tuition, books and course-related materials as a way to learn new skills, improve performance and expand career options within the SCCOE. Contact Human Resources at (408) 453-6503 for an application form that must be approved before class begins.
